Inside the Senszx Pattern & Sample Room - From CAD Drawing to Sewn Backpack in 3-5 Days
Every bag we make starts in this room. A pattern designer turns your sketch, reference or tech pack into a CAD pattern; the CNC plotter cuts it; a sample sewer builds it on the same machines the production line uses, pulling zippers, webbing and buckles from the trim library on the wall. Because the pattern is digitised before the first sample is sewn, the file that cut your sample is the file that cuts your bulk. Design desk: from your brief to a CAD pattern
The designer reads your tech pack or sketch, checks dimensions against the bag's job (does a 15.6-inch laptop fit; is it within carry-on size), and draws the pattern in CAD: every panel, seam allowance, reinforcement patch and print placement. For ODM projects the same desk produces photoreal renderings in your colourways so you approve the look before fabric is cut.
Digitising first is the discipline that stops sample-to-bulk drift. There is no paper pattern to stretch, trace or lose; the file goes to the plotter for the sample and to the CNC cutter for bulk.

CNC plotter: the pattern cut to the millimetre
The CAD file is plotted onto pattern board or cut directly from fabric on the CNC plotter. A one-metre-wide bed handles the largest duffel panel in one piece; small components are nested on the same sheet. Cutting the sample by machine rather than scissors means the sample is dimensionally identical to what the bulk CNC will produce.
The plotter also prints a full-size paper pattern for the sewer's reference and for the pre-production meeting, where line leaders mark operation sequence directly on it.

Trim library: 300+ webbing, binding and zipper tapes on the wall
The wall of spools is why samples take days, not weeks. Webbing from 10 to 50 mm in polyester, nylon and PP; binding tapes; zipper chain in every size and coil type; elastic, cord and hook-and-loop - all in the standard colours and many brand shades. The sewer pulls what the pattern calls for and the hardware card is assembled from the drawers below.
For your Pantone we dye webbing, binding and tape to the same lab dip as the fabric; the library holds the stock shades so the first sample can be sewn while custom colours are dyed.

Sample sewing: production machines, production hands
Samples are sewn on the same industrial machines the lines use - lockstitch, double-needle, bartack and binding - by sample sewers who came from the lines. Sub-assemblies (padded back panel, straps, organiser) are built first, exactly as in bulk, so the sample reveals any construction problem before it multiplies. The finished sample is measured against the CAD, photographed from six angles and cycle- and load-tested before it is couriered.
Revisions are sewn in the same room by the same person, usually within 3-5 days, and the approved sample is sealed here as the bulk inspection standard.
